The place is very beautiful with a decoration that gives it a bohemian and romantic touch. Where it has its corners strategically designed to separate leisure from pleasure and even from the students who stay. The staff is very attentive and even very empathetic. I was in a female shared room, super comfortable, I had a bunk where I slept on the bottom bed and I loved that, but the only thing that caught my attention was that when I moved the mattress to pick up a headset that I had fallen to the floor, I found dirt from candy papers, napkins, a disposable glass, a lot of lint, and even some underwear that didn't belong to me. I had to clean and throw everything away because it wasn't pleasant at all. The rest 10 out of 10The perfect place to stay, make new friends, go on adventures, and have a great time.The best hostel in the City of Buenos Aires. Excellent care, safety and hygiene. I've been visiting it for years and it keeps getting better. Ideal for international tourists. I suggest optimizing breakfast in the offer, but there are free infusions and that makes up for it. The pub crawl was great, the most fun thing I did in Buenos Aires. They choose very good bars, delicious drinks and good music.I also had a lot of fun at karaoke. The coords on the bed don't even work, the common area sucks, you have to rent the board room, the food was burnt, and on top of that they literally scammed us on the pub crawl. There are many activities and excursions you can book. Volunteering and Spanish lessons are also offered. The hostel arranges different activities , such as going out together or karaoke. The staff is super welcoming and friendly, whether it is in the bar, for breakfast, or in the reception. They welcomed me with smiles and had lots of useful recommendations for Buenos Aires. If you would like to party, meet new people, be social, and have a good time, this is a great place. The hostel is huge and has many different rooms. Private rooms are located on the upper floor, away from the area with most noise. Breakfast can be purchased in the bar, and they are happy to store your bag after check out. Absolutely no privacy in the rooms - my feet were touching the guys head in the next bed, very intimate. Bunks were wobbly, mine had come loose from the bolts on the wall so the bed shook more than a tree in a hurricane. Also no protection if you were to fall in your sleep, and itās a hefty height.Our bathroom was a complete swamp, the floor was covered in water. While this is of course one of the guests, a sodden wet towel remained on the floor from the point I checked in until I checked out (2 nights). The owners response to these reviews state rooms are cleaned 3 times a day, though this was not the case.Location was decent and the building was nice, but the rooms were cheap and not user friendly. Itās a party hostel so mentally prepare for someone to come stumbling in at 3am.Heard thereās lots of other nice ones in town.Stop denying!!! Accept what people are saying! Donāt stay here!The beds were wobbly and you are without barriers or walls so good luck not falling down. The whole experience was just awful, no idea why it has many good reviews, maybe different rooms have different conditionsā¦.Response to their message: i forgot to mention that they scam people for football matches at 150 usd per ticket, the tickets should cost no more than 50 usd so they are just ripping off their customers. I stayed here as a guest back in April this year. I loved that I felt my belongings were safe here at all times, hot water in the showers, comfy beds, plenty of space and activities to meet people and have fun. I'm sure I'll stay here again in my next visit to Bs AsSo I came to my shared room and it said everything was ready.I was given bed linen to make, but everything was already there... As it turned out, from the predecessor. Absolutely disgusting.As well as all the hair (shower, sink and floor, the toilet that overflows with toilet paper) in the bathroom and it has already been cleanedā¦. It looked like days without cleaning. We hope to return soon!!The rooms have comfortable beds, although I was in a mixed room, the order and cleanliness depends a lot on who you share with. They have a trunk to store your luggage (take a padlock). Sheet service. The cleaning service comes two or three times a day, that seems perfect to me. I was out for a walk and was able to work from the hostel. It has a very good location in the capital! They give you good advice for tourism! When there were street parades blocking the streets Alex was extremely helpful and organised a taxi. Alex ensured that I made it safely and also was just really helpful and had a good vibe about him. The hostel is filled with people from all over the world and the reception is super helpful with recommendations and advice.The rooms are basic but serve their purpose and have all the necessities including lockers.The location is great right in the centre of town.I'll start with the good.The hostel itself is beautiful, everything renovated, the room was 10 (I stayed in a private room). There are activities in the hostel bar at night (karaoke, dancing...). Ideal location, walking distance to the main places of interest and public transport.Cons:When checking in they told me about the bar but not about the kitchen (I discovered it on the 2nd day). The guys are very friendly but no one shows you around. The prices at the hostel bar are higher than those at a basic bar. Difficult to sleep. The rooms are noisy and also because of the people who stay in the patio on the 1st floor (where there are more rooms)... They should restrict the hours of use at night. The room was cold and when I wanted to turn on the AC it didn't turn on, when I went to reception they told me that they enable it (I had to do it every day I was there). They charge the private room as a hotel room, allow the use of AA or deactivate it with the card.Summary: the hostel is very nice but I don't know if I would return.The place is very well located and super clean. We were in a room with a private bathroom, I expected something dingy and the truth is that it was super clean.The only thing I would complain about is that it has only one elevator and sometimes you have to wait a long time.On the other hand, for my taste I heard a lot of noise in the room, for example the Saturday we went there was a party at the hostel and in the third floor room I heard the party... the rooms were very noisy.But super clean and comfortable litters.A place close to everything, the obelisto and Corrientes avenue where you find everything. Initially I had gone to spend the weekend but I ended up extending my stay for several more days because of how much fun I had. I would always come back.Don't stay here!****Also, read the other 4 and 5 star reviews, you will see those reviews even still complain about the same things I mention and more!!****1) They rip you off, forcing you to pay in USD, not the blue market rate or what your credit card will give you or in cash with pesos. They are robbing people by not letting them pay in cash or in the local currency on a credit card.2) Staff acts like they are doing you a favor staying there. Not helpful checking in, slow and no care if customers are happy. Each time I asked a question or for help, it felt like I was bothering them.3) No early check in. My room was ready and empty, however they still wouldn't let me in my room until 2pm. After 16hrs or traveling all I wanted to do was lay down. But no help or care that I had to wait another 6 hours. Even if it wasn't ready they could have gotten my room cleaned first and let me in when it was ready, but I doubt they would go out of their way to help anyone like that.4) I paid for a room with AC. Which wasn't on. When I asked to turn it on, staff rolled their eyes and hesitantly put it on. They say it is set at 24, but feels like it's set at 27 or 28. The first night it was so hot in the room I couldn't sleep. At 4am, I went downstairs to ask to turn the AC cooler. They wouldn't, until I started begging, showing them I'm sweating, saying I couldn't sleep and that I was screaming in aggravation in my pool of sweat on the bed, not being able to sleep. Finally, someone went with a remote and supposedly set it at 22, even though I asked for 19 or 20. It barely worked and still felt like 26 in the room.5) Check out is 11am. I take a shower at 10am, get out and try to dry off. Some reason I can't stop sweating. I look up, and they turned the AC off well before 11am! So, I had to leave in a fresh shirt that was all sweaty because the room I paid for AC, didn't have it on (after they turned it on) and started my last day off terribly.6) It used to be a very social place. However the staff wasn't very social and looked down on the travelers and gave preference to those who volunteered and stay there long term. They act like they're doing you a favor when you ask for anything.I could add more, but you get the picture.Stay somewhere else that will let you pay in actual pesos, doesn't rip off customers, has functioning AC and isn't concerned about an extra 20 pesos ($0.05 usd or lessl) they saved by not running the poor excuse for AC my entire stay (or at a reasonable temperature). Seeing they are ripping people off by charging usd, they shouldn't be concerned about setting the AC to 20, or whatever you request. They should also update the split system air conditioning so they actually work, and leave the remote in the room so guests can choose their level of comfort.Bottom line, go somewhere else.Great hostel. Everything is so well run and so friendly and social. It is the PERFECT HOSTEL TO MEET PEOPLE and make connections. The people that work here are SO FRIENDLY AND AMAZING. the hostel is very clean, they even make the beds. They give replacement sheets or a towel change if you ask for no charge. They have AMAZING FOOD, the breakfast and the rest of the day there is food available and it's delicious. The PRICES ARE VERY AFFORDABLE, this is one of the only hostels where the food and drinks do not have a markup, it is competitive pricing. The have a GREAT BAR ATMOSPHERE which is a very nice party vibe but still far enough from the rooms that you won't hear any noise if trying to sleep. This was a great hostel overall and a great location. Iāve been to over 60 countries and stayed in many hostels all over and I know theyāre all different in their own way. I stayed here for 5 days and overall it was great, they have a bar where you can order food and drinks during the day and night, and they have a rooftop where they do events as well. They staff were great and were very nice. They have events you can sign up for and you can even rent bikes, or sign up for a bike trip where you go to a place to rent but I went on my own. Itās in a pretty good location too I think.the bar is lively at night and they even do karaoke.Iād say the only cons I thought would be with the rooms. I understand people come in and out at all times of the day and night so itās different than a hotel since youāre sharing a room with people and you may be disturbed or the light may be off. You have to make your own bed when you get there which isnāt a big deal but some may think that. I paid for a room with A/C since itās hot in BA, but the AC didnāt work and I still got charged the same price. We had a bathroom in the room and it didnāt get cleaned the whole 5 days I was there. There was a girls panties hanging in the shower on the faucet which I guess was from a previous person. Iāve been at other hostels where itās like a community bathroom/shower room in the hallway so at least itās like a private bathroom there.Overall, I think itās a great hostel and I would definitely stay there again. If I stayed again Iād probably rent a single room so I know my bathroom would be clean and wouldnāt have to deal with the toilet being nasty, guys hair all over, etc.This place isnāt bad so give it a try, even if itās just for a day.All the hostels on hostelworld and Booking collude together on price. Real price for a hostel is 6k-10k ($6-10 usd) per dorm. Go to Che or Junior or many other options. It has private rooms, but there were not enough for all the days of our stay. First we stayed in a women's room, everything was good there, order, cleanliness, view of the street and balcony. Price is good for what you getYou have to bring your towel, personal hygiene items and a lock for the clothes cabinet 😌Room was only OK. Shower was always hot. Looked under my mattress to see lots of garbage including someone's dirty underwear and plenty of snot/cum rags. Bed was made almost everyday of stay so that was a positive. But they had people checking in to the room at 830am on a couple occasions. And housekeeping was in every morning by about 930am to try an get a headstart on their cleaning. Had to make your own bed upon arrival for some reason.Bar was good. Most of the staff/volunteers did a good job. One staff member who did most of the event coordination at the bar was a bit aggressive in her delivery. Shouting "FREE SHOTS" instead of offering them politely. Overall in the bar I wasn't overly comfortable. It seemed a lot of the guests in there were not guests of the hostel but friends and former volunteers of the hostel and they got better service than those actually spending money at the hostel. I spoke to a few people who even said they were now locals who volunteered in the past. They continually got the "free shots" while the guests were bypassed. I even witnessed some of them bringing in their own alcohol, while it's a rule to not bring in any alcohol from outside. Rule was not enforced at all while I was there as I watched a table next to me put a bottle of gin on their table one night and consum it while staff could care less. (see photo)They claim the communal kitchen gets locked at 1030PM. I brought back a pizza on one night at 10PM, labeled it and attached a tag as they request so food does not get left too long or mistaken by someone for their own. At 1230 I went downstairs to see the kitchen not locked. Checked on my pizza because the bar was busy with non guests, and 4 slices had been stolen, surprise. Went to the front desk to point out it was in fact not locked yet and that I had food stolen because they failed to ensure its safety overnight and they barely cared. But did lock the kitchen. Woke up in the morning to find my last 2 pieces had also been stolen. Knew nothing would be done about it but tried to mention it to reception, but the abrasive bar host passed it off like it was nothing and claimed she would tell the manager... Later went back and mentioned it to another receptionist who just said "it's OK, it's ok". I just wanted them to keep an eye out for a theif. If they're willing to steal someone's food, why won't they steal a phone or a bottle from the bar?!?!Website and partner sites say they offer laundry. Not true. They send you a block away. Claim their washing machine is "broken", but then how are they washing their sheets and wash cloths for the bar? Elevator is probably the slowest one in the americas. Key cards need to be redone almost daily.Overall it would be OK to stay for a night or 2 during the weekend if you didn't plan on storing anything in the kitchen and you just wanted to meh party. Better parties outside the hostel. Overpriced as just a crash pad tho. Decent location. Some decent staff. I'd recommend going elsewhere tho.Edit: Still no response or request from management for anymore information towards this issue. dropping from a 2 to a 1. Although it does not offer breakfast service included, the prices are very affordable. There are different activities every day in the evening.After ordering a drink of Kaipirosca, they gave me the most disgusting thing I or my friends have ever tasted in my life. After explaining it to them and proving it to them, they declared that it was kaipirinha, becoming defensive instead of changing the drink. Disaster of cocktails and customer service.I had a pleasant stay at this hostel, and I'd give it 4 stars. The staff was exceptionally friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. It's a hotspot for young travelers, though the dorms can be a bit crowded with 8 people. On the upside, the bathrooms are spacious and well-maintained. The on-site restaurant offered delicious food at reasonable prices. Evenings were lively, with many people, and the hostel provided a variety of activities to keep guests entertained. I could keep my bags secured in the lockers whilst I travelled to Uruguay (the staff helped me get a discounted boat ticket), Codobra & also travelled to Iguazzu, Brazil & Paraguay. During all this time my bags were securely stalled in the Millhouse lockers. I thoroughly enjoyed the service of the front desk that helped me daily with tips and how to save money (thankyou August! And everyone on the front desk and all staff!!) and I also the free coffee, milk and tea š you guys are the best and I will be recommending you in the future to everyoneThe truth is that the best vibes are found in this place, the rooms and spaces are incredible. There are many activities and the people are very fun and cool. It is full of foreigners and offers an incredible cultural exchange, if you want to chat with anyone and you like languages āāand traveling, 10/10.I spent 5 nights at this hostel, the best point without a doubt was the location.The care and service is below expectations. The cleanliness of the place was good.I didn't like the parties thrown by the hostel, they were always empty and discouraged.The bunk beds made noise and shook.Wi-Fi was excellent.I expected more from the hostel, with a slightly higher price I would stay in a nearby hotel, with a private room.With mandatory reservation and advance payment, you lose the benefit of paying in pesos (BLUE)One of the most spectacular places to rest and live a good experience in Buenos Aires. And, the location is very safe.I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Milhouse, and as a seasoned traveler with over 60 countries under my belt, I must say it was one of the most disappointing hostel stays I've ever had.First and foremost, the staff at this place seemed utterly disinterested in their jobs. Their lackadaisical attitude was evident from the moment I walked through the door. It's as if they were doing me a favor by allowing me to stay there. A warm welcome was nowhere to be found.The check-in process was excruciatingly slow, and it felt like I was being punished for wanting to stay at their establishment. After a long journey, the last thing you want is a drawn-out check-in process that saps your patience and energy.Now, let's talk about the supposed amenities. The Wi-Fi was an absolute disaster. It was either nonexistent or so slow that it might as well have been. For a hostel that boasts of catering to travelers, having a functional Wi-Fi connection should be non-negotiable.And then there was the elevator ā if you can even call it that. I've seen my fair share of slow elevators in my travels, but the one at Milhouse took the cake. It seemed to move at a pace reminiscent of a sloth in a leisurely stroll, and it served the entire building, which meant waiting forever to get to your room or back down to the lobby.To add insult to injury, I had heard whispers during my travels that Milhouse used to be a lively, party hostel. However, during my stay, it was far from lively. It felt more like a deserted library than a place for travelers to socialize and have a good time.But perhaps the most infuriating aspect of my stay was their insistence on gouging money from customers by making you pay in the US dollar equivalent. This is not only inconvenient but also feels like a blatant cash grab. Why not just charge in the local currency like every other respectable establishment?In conclusion, my stay at Milhouse was a profound disappointment. The indifferent staff, painfully slow check-in, non-existent Wi-Fi, and glacial elevator made for a truly miserable experience. If you're a seasoned traveler looking for a vibrant and accommodating hostel, I strongly recommend you steer clear of this place. Our boat left in the afternoon and for little money you can leave your suitcases for a few hours... I recommend.I love this spot. You can literally stay there and never leave this place and still have one of the best experiences. Staff is suuper nice. They can exchange money, have a nice bar. Super cozy rooms. Staff that speaks fluent English. Like what is there more to wish for ?Only recommend for people until 40 I guess. And no kids.Very good hostel. Great personnel and activities and common rooms.Staff are cordial at first but can get really unfriendly if not a good spender, the tend to take better care of Europeans much better than S. Americans. I had many items stollen from my room and when I complained they cancelled my stay without warning. I'd avoid at all costs. Would recommend Parla hostel.Decent hostel to stay at. The rooms are clean and fairly spacious, however the room I stayed in did not have privacy curtains on the beds, and was very humid after a bit.Regardless the staff are all very polite and helpful, and the location is great with hundreds of things to do nearby!This hostel was very fun! I met so many new friends, hung out downstairs and drank beer, chatted and played pool. their staff is super friendly and fun, Enzo was particularly helpful and gave us a lot of good advice. they are lucky to have him! would recommend if you are wanting to make friends and party at night šGreat hostel with great vibes! Hard to find on the street though. I kept walking past it! But once youāre inside, itās like a whole new world!I stayed in Millhouse in February. It is certainly a party hostel with loud music until 2am that you can hear from your room even though staff will say that you can't. There are many groups here too and as a solo traveller I found it hard to chat to other travellers especially as everyone felt so young (average age about 20 I'd say). The facilities here were average at best, the food that the bar downstairs serves is okay and is reasonably priced. I felt that there's no comfortable chill out area, the roof terrace was far too hot. I will say the activity itinerary looked very good and staff were helpful. If you're a solo traveller in your 30s I'd recommend not booking here.Had a wonderful time at Milhouse Avenue Hostel. Always something going on, and chance to meet other travelers. Rooms were beautiful and very clean. Would definitely stay again. Thank you!Rudest receptionist ever encountered. We came back late and they wanted 120$ for another night in the same room we previously booked for 30$. They laughed at us when we questioned the price. By far the worst hostel of BA I have experienced.Staff were not empathetic when I needed their help. We're not willing to budge at all and basically said they couldn't help me. Disappointing outcome that I won't forget. Rooms were good.Bar staff were pretty good but their not fooling anyone with their watered down cocktails. They were horrible. It crashed three times for us so that is just unnecessary.For 25$ per night you have to put the sheets on by yourself which have stains all over them and the sheet for the pillow does not even fit its size.Beds are old, lockers kind of crashed and rooms tiny so you cant really move between the suitcases.Shower in our rooms was kind of blocked so you are standing in 4cm of water with pubic hairā¦disgusting.The air condition sounded like a tractor and went on every half an hour or so during the night.Party goes on until 02:00am, so you hear screaming from everywhere until then.There is only one elevator so waiting time is outrageous.Would all be fine for 7$, otherwise it is just a scam.Stayed 4 nights in a dorm and 1 night in a private room. Dorms & adjacent bathrooms were spacious, with ample storage place in lockers in each room. Beds were a bit dated and not the most comfortable mattresses, curtains on dorm beds for privacy would have been nice. Daily service in rooms and everything throughout the property was pretty clean. Private room was comfortable but a bit overpriced for what you got. Communal facilities (rooftop, kitchen, lounge, bar, etc) were nice, although it was a bit surprising that the rooftop wasn't more popular. Onsite restaurant (breakfast/lunch) had tasty food for a good price. Staff were exceptional- very friendly, efficient, and professional in handling seemingly any question or issue thrown at them. A very well managed hostel overall. Pre check-in/post check-out secure luggage storage very easy here. They also do a great job at connecting fellow travelers and organizing social events on a nightly basis. WiFi works great throughout hostel. Would definitely recommend if you are visiting BA and looking to have a social experience connecting with others.Everybody was nice and the rooms are good. It's a safe hostel to stayAt the beginning of our stay at the Milhouse we didnāt have AC for two whole nights which is terrible at summer. At the reception they offered us a *discount* on the breakfast because thatās worth two nights of sleeping right?To continue if you like sleeping at night itās impossible because there is lots of noise from the parties at the bar. They donāt respect any kind of quiet hours and itās impossible to sleep until 2 AM.And to finish the experience they told us we have to pay 5,000 ARS for charges that never happened and when we asked about what suddenly the girl at the front desk donāt know english. And I havenāt even started to talk about the price for this experienceā¦Shower room was basically falling apart. No one joined some of the social activities organised by the hostel, but that could just be a timing issueAll the staff was absolutely incredible and made my experience so enjoyable. They are all so friendly and welcoming and definitely helped make my experience so great in Buenos Aires.Awesome hostel, has bar and serves breakfast. Offers tours in the city and bike rides, along with many other activities.Rooms are nice clean and cozy, room service makes the bed daily. Towels smell clean but they had some stains.Location is great- right at the city center.I've been to many hostels & I can safely say that this one is absolutely amazing!The rooms and common areas are clean, it has a really cool vibe and most importantly: The stuff is just awesome. I came into contact with Nehuen, Carla, Sofia and Augistina and they were all so nice! Always ready to help with questions and even giving some really great recommendations of fun things to do in Buenos Aires. I am pretty sure they are the main reason why the vibe in the hostel just feels perfect. Can highly recommend this place!CAREFUL THEY WILL NOT LET YOU PAY IN PESOS !! After a long discussion I had to pay with Credit card which means I paid double the price for this place.Checked in at 2pm and the Room did not get cleaned at all. The Receptionist was laughing at me and said they never clean the Dorms before 2pm and I just have to wait until someone finds the time to do it.
